About The Hill

The Hill volunteers celebrate its birthday in 1985.

We’re not over The Hill yet! Founded in 1984 by the late Rogen Brown and by Abigail Golde and DK Holland, who is currently editor-in-chief, The Hill is published bi-annually to promote the benefits of historic preservation, development and rejuvenation of this Brooklyn community. Its editorial aim is to portray the vitality of the diverse and endlessly fascinating residents, cultural and arts groups, institutions and businesses of the Hill (Clinton Hill, Fort Greene and Wallabout) as well as to reveal the major contributions of our community to all of the five boroughs of New York City and beyond.

Currently the members of The Hill, Inc.’s board are Karl M. Garlid, treasurer; DK Holland, president; Keith Flanders, vice president; Howard Pitsch, secretary; and members at large: Suzanne McCaffrey, Michelle Mulligan, Marcos Salazar, Kathryn Zarczynski, Bruce Zenel and Jane Zusi. Members emeriti: Mary Cole, Tom Dolle, Barbara Fiscarel, L.G. Golde, Gail Richardson, Roslyn Huebener, George Waffle. The design of each issue of The Hill is provided by Tom Dolle Design (www.dolledesign.com).
